En: Reaction to Reaction / BAND-MAID "Take Me Higher"

OK, it's been a while since I last introduced reaction video to BAND-MAID, but I had to be a bit cautious in picking up which one to feature.

Because so many guys are reacting to BAND-MAID recently! (probably they noticed featuring this band brings more views to their channel!)

Anyway, let me start today's "React to React"!

The Grumpy Nerd

Firstly, the reason why I chose this guy's reaction video was because his perception seems to be quite similar to mine, particularly in describing the characters of BAND-MAID & its songs.

The song featured in this video is "Take Me Higher", which didn't end up his favorite BAND-MAID tune.

Keyword: Guns N' Roses

2:04 ~

Yes, right from the beginning, he used a keyword "Guns N' Roses".

As a hardcore Slash / GNR fan, I always feel the influence from Slash on kanami's guitar play (and even entire band)

More particularly, in her some riffs & wah pedal usage.

Her after-wah sound alone is already similar, but it gets much closer to Slash tone when she plays some licks with bends.

And so too about the tightness of this band. This band can comfortably jam onstage like GNR guys have done throughout their whole carrier!

Hook Quality

at 6:10, he said he doesn't like the hook of this song.

The reason is different, but I'm also not into this song that much because of the quality of hook.

Because the new album they have released last month and the performance of two years leading up to it were all too damn great.

Obviously, the bar inside of us has already been raised up high (unconsciously).

Skilled & Seasoned

At 7:50, he praised the bands' skills & versatility.

This was exactly my very first reaction to BAND-MAID. How come these young players can be this ridiculously good!?

To me, this band is like a super group formed by the members of GNR, RHCC, Metallica, Van Halen, Foo Fighters, Linkin Park...etc, who plays with "Luna Sea filter".

So I totally agree with his view that BAND-MAID members should have covered lots of different types of music.
