En: Arpeggio / Alexandros

Alexandros is one of the most important rock acts in talking about current J-rock scene.

This four piece band has established a solid fan base by catching youth hearts.

Soundwise, their major strengths are the vocalist, Yohei kawakami's percussive vocal style and spot-on alternative vibes.

To me it seems that they always take up a new challenge every time they releases a new song.

Arpeggio

Today's feature, "Arpeggio" was originally released about a year ago as a lead single from their album "Sleepless in Brooklyn".

As its tittle suggests, the song starts with beautiful arpeggio underneath the very singalong-able chorus melody, which is also a common factor found in many of their songs.

*arpeggio starts at 4:30

Relatable Lyrics

The biggest reason why so many young listeners are supporting them is probably for their relatable lyrics.

Vocalist Yohei is really good at capturing sense of insecurity, struggle or fragility those young listeners are feeling in their every day life.

And here again, he closed the song with the clear statement "Say NO to the world now" after touching on loneliness and staying true to oneself.

Finally, let me put this reaction video by "MacRyanMac" to the song.

Yes, as he suggests in his video, you can feel the positive vibe the band is sending out even if you don't understand the lyrics.

But empathy for this song could be doubled or tripled if you were able to.
