My Aerosmith Cover Project moves on!
This week's featured song is "Last Child", from their legendary album ROCKS. This muddy, funky groove is certainly a great representation of the band's character!
エアロスミスカバー企画、まだまだ続きます！
今週の一曲は、伝説の名盤と名高い "ROCKS" から、"Last Child"！この沼のようで、かつファンキーなグルーヴ、エアロの個性をよく表していますよね。
I still remember how weird this song sounded to me when I first heard many years ago.
What is that strange intro transition from dark sounding arpeggio to main funky riff!?
I have to admit that I'm not a fan of this song even today, but playing was a bit different. It was fun like many other Aero tunes!
昔、一番最初にこの曲を聴いた時の違和感は今でも忘れられません。
あのイントロのダークなアルペジオ⇒ファンキーなメインリフへの奇妙な展開、あれは一体！？（笑）
他の曲に比べたら今でもそれほど大好きとは言えませんが、それでもエアロはエアロ。
他の曲同様、プレイするのは楽しかったです！
And it's also great to see Brad Whitford get spot both as a songwriter & a lead guitarist of the song when it's played live.
To me, Brad's guitar solos always sound well-structured and melody-oriented even when he does improvisation.
That's what I wasn't able to realize in my youth, when Joe's cool stage move was everything...
あと、ライブでこの曲がプレイされる時、作曲者＆リード・ギタリストとしてブラッドにスポットが当たるのも良いですよね。
私はジョーの大ファンですが、ブラッドのソロはアドリブで弾いてる時でも構成がしっかりしていて（起承転結があって）、よりメロディ重視に聴こえます。
まぁ、とにかく「ジョーの弾き方、かっこいい！！」だった若い頃にはそんなこと全く理解していませんでしたけれど…汗
